New York Introduced to Rebel Bingo
Posted on July 15th, 2010
Rebel Bingo was introduced in the UK and was an instant hit among the younger set. An email sent to players just a few hours before a game describes Rebel Bingo as “dangerous and addictive.” The games are held at secret locations and players are notified by email shortly before the games begin. Most participants are in their early 20’s and Rebel Bingo games are packing them in. A typical email announcing a game reads, (”If anyone asks, you are not coming to play Rebel Bingo, you are coming to a NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH MEETING,” the email says. “Make sure you are not followed on your way there.”) There is also a dress code which reads, “Strictly no work suits or “anything adapted from a work suit trying to trick us.” Rebel Bingo in the UK was co founded by Freddie Sorensen and James Gordon who started the first Rebel Bingo games in a little used church hall. James Gordon stated, “The grannies in the church had a bingo wheel, and a couple of girls started playing with the bingo balls, and it was great fun. We all got involved with it. It gradually seemed that the after-party was more popular. People were trying to get into the secret after-party where we would play bingo.”
Rebel Bingo now has its own website complete with rules secret codes and insider information. Rebel Bingo games take place in London, Brighton, Nottingham, Manchester, Bristol and games have just been started in New York. Rules are strict and include;
No old people
No wankers
No office parties
No hen parties
No stag parties
No work suits
No customer service
The dress code reads” Undercover on your way there, dangerous once you’re inside” An article on the Rebel Bingo website explains that alcohol was a lubricant in the early Rebel Bingo games and contributed to the fun. A colorful description of the atmosphere surrounding Rebel Bingo reads, “Rebel Bingo is dangerous and addictive. The authorities are after us. They want to shut us down. But we won’t let them. Our numbers are growing. We’re spreading across the country. You won’t see us but we’re everywhere. You won’t hear us but we’re right behind you. We’re everywhere and nowhere, but wherever we are we’re playing dirty, hardcore m—fu—- Rebel Bingo on the down low.” Now New York has their own Rebel Bingo games and it is only a matter of time before rebel Bingo goes online!
