Mt. Everest Bingo Players Set Record

The Sue Ryder Charity is well known to many UK internet bingo players. Earlier in the year US President Barack Obama’s step mother sponsored sever highly successful bingo games that raised a considerable amount of money for the Sue Ryder Charity. Kezia Obama teamed up with bingo giant Gala with the goal of raising £1 million pounds for Sue Ryder Care which assists people suffering from Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s and Multiple Sclerosis. Recently a group of Gala employees trekked up Mt. Everest for the world’s highest game of bingo. Funds generated by the sky high game will be donated to the Sue Ryder Charity.

The group had the goal of raising £100,000 for Sue Ryder. Many of the participants trained for months to get in shape for the record setting bingo game. Patrick King who trained for a year in preparation for the trek and bingo game said, “It’s simply unbelievable to have been part of a world record-setting team. Despite all the hardships that I endured on the way to Everest Base Camp, the trek was a once-in-a-lifetime challenge and it’s great to finally be able to say that I’ve trekked to the top of the world and set a new record for Britain’s favourite game.”

Gala employee Huw Thomas described the excitement of the world’s highest bingo game; “The other trekkers at Base Camp simply couldn’t believe it when we started pulling out the calling cards, dabbers and bingo balls at 17,500ft for the record attempt – we’re sure that they thought we had altitude sickness.”

For those of us who prefer to play bingo in a nice warm room internet bingo is a perfect solution. No freezing temperatures and no chance of altitude sickness and the prizes and jackpots are varied and original.
