Bingo Helps Pensioners to Avoid Disabilities

A new study published in the UK suggests that an active social life combined with playing bingo can significantly reduce the chance of becoming disabled for senior citizens. Doctors found that keeping busy combined with the mental exercise bingo provides can reduce the chance of developing a disability by two thirds!
The study, published by the Archives of Internal Medicine, showed that stating active both mentally and physically can reduce the risk of disability by 65% and the risk of death by 40%. Dr Aron S. Buchman of Rush University Medical Centre in Chicago, stated, “Decline in motor function is a familiar consequence of aging.” It is well known that playing bingo keeps the mind sharp and many studies back up this claim.
Bingo has long been used as a teaching tool and the game can be adapted for almost any purpose. In both the UK and the US bingo is the chief source of recreation and social interaction available to pensioners. Many seniors also play internet bingo and say that internet bingo has helped them to learn valuable computer skills. For pensioners in rural areas without access to a local bingo hall internet bingo provides the same chances for social interaction and mental exercise.
For pensioners with serious medical conditions the benefits of bingo and an active social life remained the same as for those in good health. According to the study, “These data raise the possibility that social engagement can slow motor function decline and possibly delay adverse health outcomes from such decline. Further work is needed to ensure that this is a causal relationship.”
Study after study on both sides of the Atlantic consistently reinforces the belief that playing bingo is beneficial for seniors. Both the live version and internet bingo provide fun and entertainment to millions around the globe. Who knew that such an entertaining game could have such wide reaching benefits?
Senior citizens on fixed incomes benefit from the keen competition between internet bingo websites. Bingo websites offer players a wide variety on inducements such as free bingo bonuses and larger jackpots. Players short of cash can take advantage of a bingo deposit bonus or a bingo sign up bonus. These player perks help those on fixed incomes to make their cash go further on bingo websites. As pointed out both land based and internet bingo can help seniors get much needed mental exercise and best of all is the fun players have playing their favorite game online.
