Cleaner Wins £1 Million Pound Bingo Jackpot

Soraya Lowell who works as a cleaner and lives in a council house won an astounding £1,167,795 ($1,721,962 USD) jackpot while playing at a bingo hall named Club 3000 located in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire.

Mrs. Lowell has had an amazing run of good luck lately. After her big win she played bingo the next night and won £200. ($294 USD) Mrs. Lowell also won £43 ($63 USD) as her share of lottery winnings in a lottery syndicate she participates in. Mrs. Lowell stated, “I must be on a lucky run just now but I still can’t get my head around that amount of money. It just won’t sink in at all.”

Soraya whose husband is currently unemployed has also promised to share her winnings with neighbor and bingo partner Agnes O’Neill, 68. The pair has played bingo regularly for 20 years. The Lowell’s have four children ranging in age from 13 to 21. Agnes praised Soraya’s generosity stating, “There wouldn’t have been any malice from me if Soraya had decided to keep the money herself but she insisted that we do what we’ve always done. Soraya is just brilliant. I don’t keep well and she does absolutely everything for me. I’m lucky to have her.”

Soraya says all her new found wealth will not change her life. She plans to keep her job as a cleaner and says she will continue to drive the same Vauxhall Astra and will continue to live in her council house. It is truly heartening to read about a truly unselfish hard working person winning millions.
